The city’s architecture is dynamic; spaces are rearranged, according economic, social and politic factors. For nearly a hundred years, electricity and heat have been generated on cape Sörnäinen. The city history merges with the energy production. Industries were considered a symbol of modernity. The electricity produced by Hanasaari power plant has represented a fundamental piece of technology development. This part of the city now abandoned and in the near future condemned to disappear was responsible for the development and prosperity of Helsinki. Industry is also a part of urban landscape under this aspect vanishes this area will represent a lost in the Helsinki urbanization history.
